TBS Blues Challenge

Here’s our set from the TBS Blues Challenge for 2009.  This was held at the Berkley Cafe in downtown Raleigh.  We had a great time, and were happy to see some old friends and make some new ones!  The first song is ‘The Flow’ off of our upcoming ‘First Thing Smoking’ project…

We followed with ‘Got to Go’, which is a brand new song we have not yet officially recorded…

Next was ‘Three Handed Woman’, which we had posted earlier as a live audio track from a recent gig.  This is another new tune that has not yet been officially recorded…

‘Cheated You Fair and Square’ is another song off of the recent ‘First thing Smoking’ project…

And we had ‘Listen to Your Man’, another tune off of ‘First Thing Smoking’.  We had to call this one on the fly because we ended up with a good bit of time, glad to be able to slip this one in…

We had a great time at the Blues Challenge, thanks to the Triangle Blues Society.  Shout out to the Fat Bastards for a fine show.  I bet Tim 5 bucks that his band had won, and I do intend to collect!

Live Shows

“The New Thing” from the upcoming release “First Thing Smoking”, recorded at the Blue Bayou Club in Hillsoborough, NC.  We just stuck a flip cam by the soundboard, but it came out OK.  Walter, the keyboard player, is sort of hidden behind the mains, and there’s too much of the guy in the white hat, but there ya go!  A really good gig at a great bar.

“Cheated You Fair and Square” with special guest Hall Ashmore on guitar, also at the Blue Bayou club.

Well, this was taken by my nephew, and it’s mostly our shoes, but this is “Taking Out the Trash” from “Luxury Life”, out at the General Store Cafe in Pittsboro.

Rehearsal

We usually set up the Flip cam to record rehearsals for no great reason, occasionally we’ll post segments here, jamming, rehearsing, and writing
